Since Jan 2013, MyVoice has been requesting Canadians become MyVoice members to receive coupons, samples and other offers that are relevant to all Canadians. MyVoice provided a pathway for retailers and manufactures to connect to our members in a meaningful way.
We work with packaged goods and pharmaceutical companies to provide valuable offers for our members. We started off with traditional mail sending coupons and samples to our members after completing one of our surveys. In Nov 2013, we opened our online portal allowing members to complete the survey online. We started communicating with MyVoice members in Dec 2013.
Since 2013, we’ve seen a decrease in paper coupons while digital coupon use continues to increase in frequency. We’ve also noticed a reduction in the value of coupon offers to our members. The free trial sample distribution to homes have diminished in size and scale due to increased postage costs.
To be competitive in the marketspace, we began offering digital coupons to our members in April 2017. In general, the digital coupons are not preferred by our members because they still have to print the coupon at their cost and bring it with them to the store when they go to shop. To this end, we developed a program to redeem the coupon at the store using the smartphone. We built functionality to allow manufactures to set the maximum number of time the coupons can be printed or redeemed and provided the capability to redeem the coupon at the retail store. Unfortunately, the large retailers are not ready to accept coupons using the smartphone. However, the small retailers and restaurants are currently using this functionality.
Due to the lack of coupon redemption capability using the smartphone by the retailers and the recent 2020 pandemic conditions, we have created the MyVoice Store®. This store is designed to provide a safe and cost-effective method to manage the coupon redemption and to provide samples for trial. This process provides the MyVoice members with the opportunity purchase products directly from the MyVoice Store®.
